They have a wide variety here and many that I have seen in the dramas. We had spicy rice cake and it was delicious, slightly sweet rice “noodle” in a spicy Korean chili sauce with vegetables, some flat dumpling like noodles and glass noodles. We also had seafood pancake which was crisp and loaded with a variety of seafood. Tasted slightly like a potato cake but the abundance of seafood made it delectable. We also had a dumpling or won ton soup that had a rich broth and the dumplings were loaded with meat. The sides were very good there was a seafood salad in maybe a wine vinegar, potatoes marinated in a sweet soy mixture, kimchi, bean sprouts in Korean pepper, broccoli in a rice vinegar sauce and cucumber in a Korean red pepper vinegar dressing. The service was friendly and prompt and the atmosphere was pleasant. Will be going back!
Korean is my new favorite ethnic food. Every restaurant is so unique with the side salads they give you with your meal. This place is quaint and inviting. The service is fast and sweet. I got my food soo fast. Ordered the Spicy Pork for $19. It was enough for 2 meals, which my husband will enjoy the second half tomorrow. The salads were probably the best I have tasted around the Portland area. My I like to combine most of them together with a piece of meat and a tiny bit of rice on a spoonful. Perfection. Delicious and nutritious. Can't wait to come back and try more dishes. They have probably 1/3 1/2 of their menu with soup type options from what I could see. It would be fun to come with a larger group and order their combination meal that is on the very back page. 4 different types of items to create a giant meal. My family will love to come next time.
I was here the day after thanksgiving and had a nice hot bowl for my meal. Awesome! Today, a day after Christmas, same meal in plain cool bowl. Meh.
I've always loved Korean food, especially Gamjatang. Every place I go I look for a good Korean place with good Gamjatang that would rival the ones I had in Korean Town in Toronto. However, I can say that at Koreana I found the gamjatang that I’ve always wanted ever since I moved away from Toronto. Their gamjatang tasted great with a lot of substance, lots of meat and veggies at great price. This is one of the best Korean restaurants I’ve been to!
Really tasty lunch I enjoyed a vegan japchae.
