Not super cheap but not expensive either like $12 a plate and the portions are very hearty. Awesome restaurant. Wish I had come here sooner.
While the food was pretty good, the price is a bit high for the portion sizes. The amount of food you get for the price is the main reason for rating. Salt and Pepper Chicken Wings were good. Huge plump pieces of chicken, but the flavors don't penetrate to the inside, leaving the meat bland once you eat all the crispy skin. Beef Chow Funn had a deep flavor and tons of umami, but it was really oily. The beef itself was tender and delicious. But there really wasn't thatmuch. Soup Dumplings and the Spicy Wontons were tasty and had a unique flavor, almost on par with other restaurants that specialize in those dishes. But the amount of filling was abysmal. For some pieces of Wontons, it had about aquarter-sized amount. Note: An order of the Soup Dumplings contains 9 pieces.
Tang Dynasty?s XLB is among the best in Portland. Not as good as Din Tai Fung, but very close to it. It?s definitely way better than many other restaurants. The wrapping was thin (in a good way), the stuffing was juicy. Both dan dan noodle and spicy wontons were very good as well. Thankful to have a good Chinese restaurant in Hillsoboro.
Was my third time. First of all customer service was horrible. Never acknowledged me and finally just sat myself. I ordered kung po chicken and the chicken was grisly and picked the worst part of the chicken. Peanuts were stale and had tons of pieces of red hot pepper in in. I couldn?t get away from it. Usually I just pick it out. I was never asked how anything was and when I paid I pointed the excessive use of the hot peppers. He just walked away. Did not care. This place useto be good. Went way down hill. Will never go back.
Was in the area and pretty hungry on a Sunday evening stopped by and was promptly told to sit wherever made me comfortable with an overall welcoming, warm and friendly atmosphere and especially from the staff. Not too casual but not too professional too the 2 young gentleman in the front really know how to make you feel at home! The food is also amazing got some dim sum and traditional dishes like pork with cilantro and fish with preserved vegetable soup and everything wason the mark! This place absolutely nails customer service and their food was fantastic! I would 100% recommend this place to anyone and will be returning.
