We had to wait 15 minutes for our coffee and sandwiches, although it only took eight. My coronation chicken sandwich was plain chicken with mayonnaise on plain bread. The garnish was just lettuce with no dressing. The restaurant seemed closed after our walk around the lake, but we saw someone entering just as we were about to leave. There are many warning notices inside and no wifi. It seems the management has given up on meeting public expectations in 2023.
I had a wonderful full cooked breakfast at Cloverdale, the food was delicious and the service was friendly. It was the perfect start to the day.
Terrible service, extremely slow! No apology for the long wait. The restaurant had no air conditioning and all the windows were closed on a day when it was 39 degrees outside. The staff was moving at a snail's pace. Overpriced for the quality, charging £3 for one scoop of ice cream is outrageous.
Went recently with a friend and we were waiting ages for our food. Id thought I'd give the cafe the benefit of the doubt as I wasn't impressed the first time I went but the service a second time was so incredibly slow. When my friends jacket potato came the cheese was visibly mouldy. It was very off-putting. I wasn't happy with my burger either which took ages but just look like it was a birds eye burger from our the oven! The wedges ordered also was just a jacket potato cut up!! Just grim really not good food at all. Despite all this the staff are friendly enough and offered my friend a complimentary drink/desert. Won't be going back again the food and atmosphere again is just plain grim.
Lovely location though unnecessary signs everywhere. The ‘luxury’ ice cream was not that nice, certainly not worth the £3 price tag. Have never paid that kind of price for ice cream to have it served in the cheapest of cheap cones. If you’re making a big deal about serving ‘luxury’ ice cream, surely you’d serve it in a premium cone? Disappointing. We also asked for tap water and were served it in tiny environmentally unfriendly plastic cups. What’s wrong with a glass? Most cafes these days have self service water points and this would alleviate the staff from having to serve their customers tap water which was obviously a burden for them judging by the annoyed face of the lady who served us.
