They offer a breakfast buffet on the weekends for $20 for adults, although we can't recall the price for children. The buffet included typical breakfast items like eggs, muffins, home fries, sausage, and bacon. Additionally, they have a breakfast menu you can order from with various breakfast plates. We chose to order off the menu and we were all very satisfied with our choices. From the Clubhouse sandwich to the Nathan's hot dog, the kid's chicken finger meal, and especially the Smash burgers, we were all happy with our meals. The fries and onion rings were average, but the Smash burgers stood out with their delicious grilled beef. We all agreed that we would likely order the same thing next time we visit. The atmosphere was a bit noisy and dark, with a Fifties theme running throughout the decor. However, it was not too loud to have a conversation at the table. We would consider returning in the future. The diner is located at the end of a strip mall, providing ample parking which is always convenient.
I typically dine here every two or three months with some old work buddies at lunch time. Always enjoy the food. The staff are friendly and efficient.
The hot turkey sandwich was plain hospital food. The sauce was tasteless, the bread was soggy topped with 12 frozen peas. The clubhouse was a little better but can't say it was good. The fries had a bad frozen taste. Our plates stayed under the warmer for a long time and the 3 waiters standing around all checked our plates and none brought our food to us. Would not recommend.
I like the atmosphere at this nostalgic diner. Once again 50's 60's live music was appreciated. I had the liver and onions dinner. The liver served with bacon was tender and cooked well. Would definitely order that again. The only thing I am disappointed over is the disappearance of the hand cut fries. I was told they were not serving hand cut fries because of Covid 19. That is a bad excuse as other restaurants we have dined in lately do serve them. I would eat here more often again if decent hand cut fries were served again. Listen to your customers!
Decided to try True North Diner with some co-workers to try their Candy Burger (which sounded delicious) for lunch. I have a food sensitivity to cheese and asked for the cheese to be removed but the waitress said they were not able to do special requests. The waitress assured me that the burger was made-to-order but couldn 't leave the cheese off the burger. I am a little disappointed that the True North couldn 't skip the step of putting the cheese on. I ended up opting for their 'regular ' burger, but would have enjoyed to try the burger they are advertising for.
