Scalini - Belfast

Scalini for good Italian in belfast. scalini is an Italian restaurant at the botanic avenue in the middle of the student quarter near the queen’s university. it was always quite busy when I was eating there. eating is always good and sometimes quite excellent. I recently had a dish of seafood with linguine (linguine pescatora,) which was really excellent, and only full of shelling no farewell there. the wee are beautiful, and the Italian coffee is really good. the prices seem reasonable, and the service is fast and friendly. the atmosphere is alive, with groups of youthful and families. a place to return.

This beautiful atmospheric Italian restaurant had a friendly and European ambiente. first, when the waiter showed us on our table, it felt very claustrophobic and little private sphere. This was then overshadowed by the institution and the courtly staff. with aperol splash and mojito limoncello, I think the limoncello was not from the bartender before serving, when it is not well balanced and lacking aromen. We had mixed the misto di mare and the highest garlic brot for beginners. di mare is like a mix of seafood cooked in tomato sauce. it should be served with focaccia, but was served with roasted, cut white bread. For the net we had vulcano pizza and anatra con gnocchi. the pizza was hot (I my spicy, hot) and even tasted better with some virgin olive oil. over the gnocchi with the duck it felt as if they served too much deer and too little gnocchi. the gnocchi should have been the star of the show. that does not mean that the duck was also the star of the show, without crispy skin and corresponding seasoning. For dessert we had a shot sambuca when we were too full of the net. Overall, the personal and the pizza was the highlight of the evening. attention to small details could make this a star review.

We have eaten in a beautiful corner italiens where they were very helpful and friendly at any time. they look like a close team. eating is plentiful and it was incredible. price is very affordable. it is a great institution where we would return.
