Threw out about half of the pizza because of it. Called to let them know and their answer was "We just opened the can today so they can't be bad." Obviously they didn't try one as they would have known that that can had gone bad. A better answer would have been that they had tried the pineapple to see if it was indeed bad and they could have told me what their experience with the pineapple was. Ruined my dining experience and what else do you say to a staff member who obviously isn't interested. First time I have ever called to discuss a pizza I have ordered and taken home. Lots of other local choices and their pizza quality certainly has gone down. I have been a frequent customer of this location, at least once every two weeks.
Armando's used to be the only game in town compared to the other pizza joints in town. It's nothing more than undercooked dough with a hint of salt (depending on what topping)... What a shame. We left Naples Belle River for the same reason.
Hit or miss.... sometimes they're cheap on the toppings... so look at your pizza before you leave. So heads up, not the greatest pizza if the "kids" are all working.
I was a frequent and loyal customer for many years, I used to get a pizza at least once every 2 weeks. I used to order many King pizza's for my kids parties or parites in general. Anyway a few months ago I ordered a Queen Super pizza for lunch. Went for a coffee run to Tim Horton's for a large double double. It had cream in it and sugar. It was close to 11 am opening time for Armando's so I decided to wait until they opened to skip breakfast (besides the coffee) and just order pizza for lunch. Just after 11 am I called in and asked what they had on special. They always have some speicals going on and on that day they had the queen and 4 items. So I ordered the Super. Took about 25 mins. Went to pick it up. Got home ate some pizza for lunch. Everything was great as usual. Had a few slices. Decided to get ready for work and take some pizza for dinner at work. While at work I had the pizza for dinner around 7pm with a coke. Around 9-10pm I started to feel nauseous. I ended up throwing up. All I ate that day was the pizza besides the Tim Horton's coffee with creme. I had to leave work early sick. Lost pay. I ended up throwing out the rest of the pizza over 3 quarters of it and told my wife who works late as a nurse not to touch it. The next day I decided to call Armando's Belle River just to let them know what happened. I thought I would ask if anybody else called in to complain of getting sick. I asked for the manager. A lady answered and said she was the manager. So I explained what happened and asked if there was any possibility that something might of been off with the ingredients or cheese. Mabye something was bad. I was the first pizza order of the day. She said everything is fresh and nothing was bad. I stated that I've been a long time customer and this was the first time I got sick. I said I wasn't sure if it was the pizza but that it was the only thing I ate all day besides a coffee with creme in it. I figured maybe the creme could of made me sick but I doubted that the creme from Tim Horton's was bad since they go through a lot of creme. The manager got all defensive and not very nice. I said I wasn't calling to complain to get a free pizza or anything but that I was just calling to let her know I got sick and thought it could of been the pizza. She kept deflecting blame. Even suggesting that I may have been drinking the night before and lot of people do that. Which got me upset since she was implying I was out drinking? how rude. I don't even drink I said. Then she said it could of been the 24 hour flu or something. I said I don't think so since my wife is a nurse and there is no such thing as a 24 hour flu. But there is such a thing as food poisoning. Which I've had before. So I knew what it was like. The manager asked me what do you want me to do? She said it wasn't the pizza. It must of been me drinking or the flu. Anyway I told her It wasn't like I wanted a free pizza but maybe some understanding or customer service. I believe the customer is always right but I guess she didn't. I said I've been a long time customer and you've lost me as a customer because of how you've handled the matter and that I would let everyone know what she said. I told her I can afford my own pizza and it wasn't like I was trying to get anything for free. (but I would of gladly taken a refund or if she would of said something like " oh sorry about you getting sick but I don't believe it was our pizza but we would like to keep you as a customer etc etc..) that would of been nice.. But she didn't. Bad customer service. So now I will never go back. There are a lot of other pizza places in town. Actually many. I thought I would write this review and how the manager at Belle River Armando's handled a situation and the way she said it was probably me drink out late the night before or the 24 hour flu... just totally rude. So just a head's up. This location could care less about its loyal customers. They lost me for good!
