Contribuisci feedbackSnowshoeing in the Jura with an overnight stay at Auberge La Guienette. I had few expectations other than the auberge would provide a bed, drying room and an evening meal plus breakfast. I was absolutely delighted to discover that the patron was a superb cook. We arrived after an horrendous day on the hills to the sight of a huge bowl of rising bread. The evening meal was an 'event ' not to be missed. Soup, homemade bread, followed by an enormous ham that had been cooked in straw. This he carried into the dining room with cheers and whoops of delight from his guests. The carving was another spectacular piece of theatre. The cheese board.......... What can I say? Yum! Delicious local cheeses. To top this ...... Yes there was more....... A desert which was superb. Layers of chocolate, cake, fruit light, tasty just perfect. This cook is a gem. He provides wholesome, delicious food perfectly flavoured. A MUST for visitors to the Jura.

Delicious meal in the Guienette after a stroll in the beautiful Bellecombe comb. Tasty hay, delicious gratin, seasonal vegetables. Nice selection of Jura wines. Smiling and efficient service.
Great welcome, everybody's super nice. Meals a real treat. We spent a good family weekend. Thank you.
