Mr. Hot Dog - Bellefonte

Okay, it's a hotdog shack and if you don't like hotdogs you have no business being here. But it is an ideal spot to grab a quick lunch while fishing the fantastic trout streams in the area. I have not been here for several years and was very glad to see that Mr Hotdog was still open and serving their fantastic Texas dogs. Great staff including a friendly waitress and a owner who is a solid guy that chatted with me about the troubles of the world for a good 20 minutes. The restaurant has a nostalgic ambiance, reminiscent of an old-fashioned soda fountain. The hot dogs are delicious and highly recommended. As for kid-friendliness, they offer typical options like hot dogs, burgers, and fries.

I moved here about 8 years ago and tried it one day. Over time i probably go there at least once a month. I have never had a bad meal including breakfast, lunch, dinner. The menu is limited but that probably why the prices are so good. Its very clean and friendly. For the price you can’t beat it. Yes the young buck in there needs to hold his tongue sometimes, but he’s young and will learn that people come to eat and not talk politics.

Herr Hot Dog is a no-frills eatery that solely focuses on one thing: hot dogs. The menu and overall dining experience reflect this dedication.
