The dishes we ordered were perfectly prepared. It was our first time visiting, and we highly recommend restaurant and patio "XlX" Nineteen in Belleville, Ontario.
This was our first visit to the restaurant. The food and service were both fantastic, and our server was very friendly. However, the menu is quite limited with only a few options available.
We sat on the terrace overlooking the golf course and it was just so beautiful and relaxing. Although the view was great, the food was even better. There were already two very large groups, so the service was a little slow, but that was... okay, because we had no hurry. The food was nicely prepared. I had the Arctic Char Sandwich I was dreaming about. The other three in our group also had sandwiches and everyone was really happy. Our server, Rob, was friendly and attentive. Well done!
Arrival at 7:00 with a party of 6, 2 children. Orders 3 apps, Bruschetta, BQ Crostini and Woodland Snails all 3 were underwhelming or on average best. I had the seafood Tagliatelle, the sauce was 'tomatoes 'y', which might sound strange, but it had 't a... depth of taste I would expect for a restaurant to serve the fine food. There were 2 scallops, 1 shrimps and 5 or 6 shells that were not properly cleaned and rode. My wife had the smoked chicken Tagliatelle, the sauce was a cream sauce that was visibly very oily. The chicken had a smokey taste, but I found about powering. The fish and chips were good and the Artic Char Special was very nice, my youngest daughter ordered the Mac n cheese that was KD Mac n cheese, the server let us know the brand before we ordered it. We ordered the Sticky Toffee pudding, which was very good for dessert; but the desserts came out in staggered times and the ice melted as we waited. The pasta came with a knife and fork and we had to ask for a spoon to swirl our pasta and became teaspoon with the comment 'You need to work with what you'. She took a first round of drinks to order, but never came back for a second. I asked her for another drink and one for my daughter and had to ask the rest of the table in front of the server if someone else wants a drink. There was no rudeness and the length of time for the service was 't exceptionally long, but it was lacking in attention to detail and was slowly superior to what seemed the amount of customers to ground personnel. Our bill came to $320 with 3 beer before the tip, the next dinner in a restaurant, we are likely to spend on other ways to spend this money
We sweethearts went for a lovely three course lunch at this picturesque restaurant. We were greeted and seated by our hostess. The food was delicious and each course was well paced. The music was selected to fit the Valentine theme. We thoroughly enjoyed our...experience and will return to Nineteen.
