Reid's Dairy - Belleville

The new store is fantastic, the ice cream is so tasty and creamy, the staff are extremely friendly. The moo'ing cow needs to go as it's annoying to hear when adults keep pushing it for fun, it's meant for little kids.

Never miss a chance to stop by the ice cream Castle! You get a double scoop (they call it a single) of house made parlour ice cream, or soft serve for a good deal. It used to be crazy good prices but now it's just okay. Not 31 flavours, only about a dozen basics when we went, so don't expect Ben and Jerry's or BnR. The lines can be long especially during popular times like the weekends and later into the afternoons and evenings, but they do their best to try and move people along quickly. Factory is there too so it's kind of neat that you can watch milk being put into containers and packaged up by the machines. TIP: Watch your step. Lots of people inevitablly spill, drip or drop their ice cream around there.

I walked in to get an ice cream but instead took a strawberry milkshake thinking that they would make it fresh. But it was pre-made and was handed to me right away which is still okay but the shake itself didn’t feel really like it was made from ice cream. It seemed to be made from a strawberry flavoured mix powder (had that weird taste that comes with powder mixes) and was too sweet.The texture was a bit like a ice slush and upon standing for a few minutes it separated into a pink liquid and top foam. Good quality milkshakes made from real ice cream will not separate like that but instead melt into milk/thick liquid. The price of $3.75 for large shake seems to justify it’s quality

Date of visit : Sun July 9thIce Cream Castles.What a fun unique ice cream shop in the heart of Belleville.The location of Reid’s dairy cannot be missed – it is built like a fairy tale castle complete with towers, spires, flags, etc. If that isn’t enough to draw you in, let the ice cream do it.They have a huge freezer case full of their many amazing flavours of hard ice cream. You can get cones, cups, Sundaes, milkshakes, banana splits, etc.They are extremely generous with their scoops – so when you order a double scoop it will seem like 4 scoops.The service is fast, efficient and friendly.The store also sells frozen foods, ice cream to go, and a lot more.The animatronic Cow in the shop is a lot of fun, and they also have a lovely park pond out back with waterfowl, Turtles, etc.
