Very expensive for a dim space. I would not come with the expectation of a traditional dim-sum place that you can order a variety of different dishes, because each dim-sum bowl is $10-15 each. The sections are bigger so the price is reflective, but not the experience I thought of with a place called Dim-Summe Factory. The service was good. They said that cash tip preferred.. it didn't bother me too much as similar things were asked in places where I was in NYC, LA and Chicago Chinatowns... Just a surprise because it seemed that they tried to appeal more of an upscale culinary experience than a traditional dimming-sum place. Eating was decent, but again, if I want, dim sum there are other places that give me the experience I want with dimm sum.
Food was good customer service was terrible. The waiter brought us the bill and said, please leave cash for the tip. We decide to leave cash, although this was a very rude thing to ask. We put it on the table. He'll come by and get the bill and look at it within 2 seconds. He turns around and says where's the tip? I would recommend staying away from this place. Obviously, others have complained about customer service.
I've been going to this place for many years, but this was my first visit since before the pandemic. Social distancing was in effect and they were at maybe 40% capacity. All the dishes came out hot and in a reasonable time. Each dish was as good as I remembered except for the green beans with pork. They were a bit bland. They have also reduced the number of egg custard tarts in an order from 3 to 2, but I they are now slightly larger. Prices are fairly reasonable, but we spent almost $100 for two (very hungry) people before tip. My only complaint is that they bring all of the food in Styrofoam or plastic containers, I guess for sanitary reasons, but the amount of waste must be huge.
I love this place!!! So happy it has dine-in now!! Shu Mai was fabulous and the Shrimp and Spinach dumplings were so good. The Pork Hum Bow and Singapore noodles were absolutely delicious!!
