Boomer's Drive-In - Bellingham

Bomb dot com! One of my favorite places in Bellingham to eat. The fries and onion rings are ssssmaaackin!

Boomer 's seems to be the only quick and affordable place to grab a gluten-free burger on-the-go in Whatcom. There are surprisingly not many restaurants in town that have GF options, and when they do, it feels like your options are salad, or a tortilla chip and hummus. Tony Steacy, GM, goes the extra mile to make sure customers feel valued; and while, of course, no flour-heavy restaurant can promise to be 100% celiac-friendly, Boomer 's really does their best. My body shuts down when I have gluten- and I 'm sure to some folks that sounds fake , but honestly, it sucks to not be able to simply grab an easy meal. To be taken seriously, and never made to feel an inconvenience, at a burger joint??? Unexpected, and darn classy, y 'all. I am impressed by the customer service every time I go here, which is not often the case with many college-town restaurants. Thanks Boomer 's for treating your customers (me! so well. I love drive-ins. Boomer’s is a good one too, but it’s nothing to rant and rave about. I had the Boomer burger, it was good. It was… chewy. The waffle fries were good. Good. I preferred the exterior over the interior. I’ll come back and try something different when in town again.

So I am local and have been there twice with two different son's. The food tastes great and the price is very reasonable in unreasonable times! My only complaint would be the food temperature (kind of just warm not hot) both with the burgers and the fries. Shakes are my boys favorite with the combo! The burgers can be just a bit dry also but overall the temperature is the biggest downer. Great service even when they are slammed which is most times because it is just a popular spot.

We had fish and chips along with a Vegetable Burger. Not the usual 50's order but tasty and fresh. It's been years since I've had a Root Beer Float. Boomer's was classic.
