Northwater - Bellingham

I just ate there on Saturday and it’s awful. After I got my burger I thought a joke was being played on me. It looked like something a kid would make. A lump of unseasoned meat with plastic cheese on a soggy roll. I took two bites of what you call a burger and pushed it to the edge. The new server (first night )had no clue and didn’t even ask why it wasn’t eaten. My date got the chicken strips and looked like a kids meal with two tiny pieces on a plate. The drinks were a mess and tasted nothing like what the should have. Then we were told there are no more limes but magically they reappeared 2 drinks later. We were handed to filthy used paper menus and the booth was full of crumbs. Apparently kids kid eat in the bar as well. What a joke this place is. Ruined the Northwater name.

This is a review of the bar. I visited with my wife on a Tuesday at 8:30 PM, and it wasn't very crowded. We waited 10 minutes for someone to bring us a menu, and then another 15 minutes just to receive our beer and mojito. After that, we waited another 20 minutes for our yam fries. In total, we spent 45 minutes waiting for just two drinks and some fries. To make matters worse, two couples who arrived after us had their orders taken first and received their food long before we did.

This would be a zero star review if possible. The entire staff should be fired for being incompetent. We were told to pick any table and they would be right over with menus. 15 minutes later they came by with 3 waters for our table of 4 and disappeared again. The waiter wreaked of a smoke break. Some other wait staff made a surprise appearance and chatted it up with some off duty employees that were at the bar. No menus after another 5 minutes so we gave up and left. Thanks for the zero star service Davey and friends.

Once again, I'm traveling for work, and I'm currently in Bellingham, which is north of Seattle. The restaurant in my hotel is amazing! I ordered the Alaskan cod tacos, and I can confidently say they did not disappoint. I tried a few drinks from various local breweries, and both bartenders, Tilly and Doni, gave me excellent suggestions. I would definitely recommend this place, whether you're just passing through or a local!

I certainly wasn't expecting such a delightful experience from this restaurant, but I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of both the food and the service. It was so enjoyable that we ended up going back twice! Apologies for the rhyme! The food and service were exceptional. There was a slight wait for our meals, but that's been the norm everywhere lately, so it wasn't an issue; it just meant that our food wasn't sitting on a hot plate. The quality of the pizza was my second favorite aspect of this place. I give it a 10/10 and highly recommend it—I will definitely be returning!
