I'm not sure when they decided they no longer needed busboys, but that was a massive mistake. The servers are now the busboy. Therefore, their customer service suffers. At first, we thought he had forgotten about us. But no, poor child was trying to get tables cleaned to get more customers in while trying to take orders, etc. He seemed flustered and exhausted. At other locations, I have seen the floor manager help and ask how everything is going if they see customers that are not being taken care of. This location floor person with a tablet (because I honestly hope she is not a manager) just tapped away with no care about the service. Only seemed to care if all tables had butts on the chairs...... We received our food eventually, and no silverware was provided. Normally, you get it upon arrival to your table. Us? Nothing. We had to request them after our food was delivered. We were given stake knives and only a fork, no spoons. Explanation? Oh, that's all we have. The new guests who were placed next to us received their silverware as they were being seated. I do not blame the poor server for the poor service, but I will definitely not be returning. Putting so much load onto their servers at such a small location is unacceptable. Get at least one busboy to help them!! Shame on your establishment.
First time visiting location for both of us. One of two appetizers was cold. He ordered meatloaf and the amount of mashed potatoes he received was no more than 2 tbsp. He ordered no tomatoes on salad, got tomatoes. Cold butter served with dry biscuits and muffins tells me no common sense. I ordered chicken fried chicken and the two pieces I got were much bigger than I anticipated so there was a plus in there. Ordered loaded sweet baked potato and got barely any butter or brown sugar. Service was so slow that I knew better than to have her bring extra so just asked for to go boxes so I could take it all home to reheat. Pretty sad considering we spent $50 and still left hungry.
We stopped into Cracker Barrel for dinner after a long drive. It was a typical Cracker Barrel except they were extremely short staffed. I admit my expectations were low but we had a delightful server and the food came out hot and correct. We were in and out and back on the road in a reasonable amount of time with satisfied stomachs. This one doesn’t have very good reviews but our experience was very good
We ordered curbside take out. When we arrived about 10 minutes earlier than the estimated time, we called to let them know we had arrived. We were told that the food was not ready, but she would bring it out when it was ready. We waited until about 20 minutes after the projected time and still no food. I decided I better go inside and check on our order. They did not seen to be very busy and there appeared to be a lot of empty tablesOne young cashier way heading to the back as I entered the restaurant. A few minutes later she came out and let the other cashier she would be back in a few minutes. I waited for the now solo cashier to finish up checking out a few customers. I let her know we had been waiting quite awhile for our order for curbside delivery. She looked on the computer, but their was no order there. She went to the shelf where there were bags of food. She handed me the bag with our receipt stapled to it. As I was checking the food versus the receipt, the younger cashier came back and inquired what I was doing. The cashier explains I am picking up my order and the young cashier says both bags are mine. I took the bags to the car. As I looked at the tickets, I realized my food had been sitting on the shelf for nearly 15 minutes and we had been charged for two items that someone had written they were out of on the receipt. None inside had said anything about this. A call to the restaurant and they refunded those two items. To be fair, I enjoy Cracker Barrel. I don't mind going in to pick it up, if I know it's ready. I was very disappointed that the young women said she would bring it or order as soon as it was ready, but our food sat on the shelf behind the cashier for nearly 15 minutes getting cold and who knows how much longer it would have sat there if I would have waited for the curbside delivery. The problem is I shouldn't have to. The young women said she would bring it out when it was ready. I can only assume this is the same young women who walked past our food to take a few minutes to herself, yet knew exactly what food was mine when she came back. In the future I won't be ordering takeout from Cracker Barrel. There were too many issues and frustrations to spend $80 for a cold family dinner. My son loves their pancakes and the hash brown casserole is great.
Well we thought we would give this place a try. We went when they first opened and it was not good...food or service. So we went again yesterday. I ordered the chicken fried chicken....it was dry and tough......there was tablespoon of gravy on each piece of chicken.....the mashed potatoes were truly mashed and amounted to about 4 bites ......no gravy at all on those ..and the carrots had a good taste but were cold.....the potatoes were luke warm at best and the chicken was hard to eat. Had to ask for knives. Thought the waitress would bring the rolls out first, but they came out with the dinner.....and hard to eat as they were cold and the butter was frozen. So disappointed as this was out birthday dinner. Will not be going back.
