We went to Pueblo Viejo for lunch today. My friend is from Salvador and suggested we go to this place. It is a little hole in the wall restaurant in a strip mall. The decor is cheezy but the people there are nice and we were attended to almost immediately. The staff's english is not the best so be patient. Fortunately my friend is fluent. We ordered papusas and tamales. Took a while to get them but when they came they were good. The place had numerous salvadorians in there eating so it is also authentic. The total bill for four papusas and two tamales was $10.18 what a deal!
My family and I tried this restaurant for the first time, and bought a voucher in Restaurant.com. We were very pleased with the service and the FOOD was UNBELIEVABLE!!! Real authentic cuisine! Try the beef fajitas or the burrito with beef, everything we tried was good. The salvadorian pupusas were very fresh, tasteful and good size. Fresh Tamarind natural juice and quick service. (Accross from the Post office in Beltsville). Try it, we will definitely be back!
Now called la Perla and the beef soup and tacos quite delicious
My friend discovered a hair in his food and the server did not refund the meal; they only took a dollar off the total bill. Despite not eating his meal, my friend was still charged the full price. The poor customer service we received during this incident has ensured that we will not be returning to this restaurant.
