El Kalifato - Benalmádena

We visited Cajalva Beach on recommendation and stumbled across this restaurant. We had the mixed paella, and it was fantastic. Great bar restaurant.

We always come here when we go to the beach. It’s a lovely spot and relatively quiet compared with the rest of the playa. Antonio, the owner, runs a good restaurant and I would advise booking for lunch or dinner in the summer. The chiringuito has undergone some improvements recently and they have been for the better, including new toilets, but hasn’t taken away the rustic atmosphere. The food is excellent and large portions, so I would advise sharing like the Spanish do. Their gazpacho by the glass is excellent as is the sangria. A truly wonderful setting matched by good service and excellent food.

I cannot rate this restaurant/bar enough. The food is to die for, be it breakfast, lunch or dinner. The cocktails go down all too easily and the staff are more than helpful and attentive. Antitonio, the owner, is always on hand with a greeting and a smile. He works so hard to make this the best bar around, and he has pulled it off with style.
