Big Ski's Pierogis - Bend

3 stars only because i only received one of my 2 orders, but i got a refund and the food continues to be outstanding. no harm no foul!

Sooooo good! Even went back to order more. Located at pod ski with several other food trucks. This was first on our list based on the reviews and definitely didn’t disappoint. I liked that we could pick our perogies for our sampler which made us go back for more. Served hot. She added sour cream and onions if you wanted which was a great add on to these pillows of deliciousness.

Well...I don't usually eat out these days because you just don't get what you pay for. This experience reminded me of that.We happened to have the TV on and saw this place featured in DDD. So we thought, let's check it out, who doesn't like perogies?$8 for four very small potato perogies was disappointing. (On a side note the tip extortion is really getting bad. Why am I tipping you ANY percentage for ringing up my order? If I don't tip are you going to spit in my food? This tipping at a food truck business needs to stop. It's a turn off and really led to me deciding to post this review. And to tell me it's part of the POS software used is a weak excuse)Back to the food. It was ok. Mrs. T's frozen perogies quality at triple the price. I like the frozen ones. It's 12 for $4.Now if you want variety, there are a lot of great options for a few more dollars. Again, it was ok and the portions were small.They were super nice. Service was fast. Food wasn't awful or anything. The food pod vibe was very cool.So if mediocre, expensive perogies in small portions from friendly nice people is your thing, then this is your place.

I really wanted to give them 5 stars but I just wasn't crazy about these. I got the sampler so there was a nice variety of flavors, but they weren't great, just ok. I guess my favorite was the chicken bacon ranch flavor if I had to choose one. The staff was great and I loved the atmosphere, but the food was just so-so. As a funny side note, I kept thinking the large dollop of sour cream on the side of my plate was a napkin so I almost wiped my fingers on it several times. ?

I have been to Big Ski's many times, and am a bit conflicted in writing this review. The Pierogis hit a real spot and are super tasty... That is if you get all the pierogis you order. I would say at least 1/3rd of the time that I go there, either me or my wife (or both) are not given the pierogis we ordered. It is just one of those things that is not necessarily a deal breaker, but also should not be that difficult to get correct. With a bit of tweaking to the attention to detail in the service, this could be a legendary establishment. Right now, its hit or miss depending on who is working that day.
