Portello Wine Cafe - Bend

On Mondays, they have a $5 glass wine special! They also offer great deals on their happy hour menu and dinner. Plus, they provide gluten-free options. The staff is knowledgeable about wines.

My partner and I visited this restaurant and were greeted by the hostess. We settled into a couch but were left waiting without menus or water. After a while, we were asked to move to a table, but again, there was no service or explanation for the change. The entire experience felt completely lacking in hospitality and customer service. It was quite disrespectful, especially since we both work in the industry and know that this isn't how things are done in Bend. We had come to enjoy a meal but encountered the exact opposite experience. On a positive note, our previous visit to Flight was fantastic—everything was great there! NWX really needs to improve its service. I would give zero stars if I could, as the lack of respect was disappointing.

Great happy hour. I work over the street and I often work Portello after long hard days in the office. On Monday they have a $5 every glass night, so it is usually busy at 5:30 (so they get their early, but don't take my table). Don't worry if you're not a Wino, they have Stella for $3 while Happy Hour T-F 4-6pm. The staff is my favorite part. They always remember my order and are always about things. If I were all happy hours in Bend, Portello would probably win hands down.

Excellent service, delicious inventive menu items, gorgeous, wide selection of wines. We enjoyed sparkling rose, which were both exactly what we wanted on a Saturday afternoon!

Portello *might be* my favorite cafe in Bend. Their happy hour is wonderful and SO affordable, especially considering the quality of their offerings, and frankly, their prices outside of happy hour are unbeatable too. For a wine bar, they also have a pretty strong tap list. The food is uncomplicated, but artful and TASTY. The space is so intimate inside and out the vibe is very relaxed metropolitan which is extra fun in central Oregon. Portello is offering what quite literally no other restaurant in Bend has. I love!
