First visit. Tried their char kway teow. Very generous with fishcakes. Taste is not far off from what you get at the usual hawker places in Singapore..lunch special is $12 and comes with a bottle of soft drink or water. Worth it!
Always my go to lunch place. Food and service are amazing. Love everything about this place. The lunch deal is a section of single plate dishes to choose from, $10-12 each that provides a can of soft drink or bottle of water.
A welcome addition to The Dear Luncher's neighbourhood. Double Woks has taken over the shop previously occupied by Nanna's Dumplings (sorely missed). Double Woks offer up a very decent array of Chinese and Malaysian fare. For the first visit, The Dear Luncher and Little Lunchers enjoyed spring rolls, Beef Horfun, prawn dumplings and King Prawns with egg noodles. Both noodle dishes were excellent. The beef in the Beef Horfun was tender and succulent. Plentiful prawns with the egg noodles. The Little Lunchers devoured the prawn dumplings with ease and were demanding more. <br/ <br/ The only down side was that the spring rolls were a little bit over fried to Your Dear Luncher's taste. In addition the prawn crackers seemed as though they were a little on the old side. They were not snap crunchy. <br/ <br/ On the whole, a terrific meal. The noodle dishes were fabulous and The Dear Luncher will be returning in due course. Not entirely inviting for dining in, but a sound take away option if you live in the area.
Late arrival home on a Monday evening. Our main malaysian restaurant and Japanese restaurant was closed!! My partner found this place online and well we thought why not try it! It's no flash restaurant but there is about 10 tables and seems clean and had a nice smell. We got roti, rice and malaysian chicken curry.. first i was shitty because they charge $4 for 1 roti... i was like higher end restaurants charge that price for 2.. but anyway... then i bit my toung and slapped myself! The rotis are pretty damn big! There not the tradotional malaysian fluffy roti. There more indian style but still yum! Chicken curry was delicious! It has mini little potatoes in but i prefer the bigger pieces that also seem softer and dont get lost in the dish. $29.00 and we were very very full! At least there's another place we found if we needed it. Price wise definitely cheaper overall then my other favourite 2. But not as good! Though, it is in my top 5 malay chicken currys i have had... including the one i made myself! Haha! Service was nice to! 1 guy serving and cooking. What a machine!! Nice experience overall and a very tasty curry that i cant realy complain about. Would i be back? Probably yes. Curious to try their dumplings.
