Contribuisci feedbackDUE TO THE MANAGER NAMED DANIEL DO NOT GO HERE! We have been there at a minimum 6 different times and on multiple occasions he has been not only rude but disrespectful and confrontational. He is rude to customers in front of them but then continues to talk loudly in the back to complaining to workers and at the same time treating them disrespectful as well. Our waitress was so kind and nice that she apologized for him due to his behavior. Workers already know how Daniel acts, even informing the customers to gladly leave if they choose to do so because this is a normal thing they must deal with. I do see that employees feel uncomfortable and intimidated to ask or even request certain things and they fear the confrontation and retaliation that may come from just doing their job. Daniel is not fit to be manager or even work anywhere with his negativity. I would not even doubt that he cares that the company is losing money due to HIS actions. I do request that the owners take this into consideration before this hurts their business in Bakersfield. They have lost a customer and although the manager does not care of people walking out but I hope that the owner sees the flaw before it is too late to fix.
My husband and I have been going to Crab and Spice for 2 years and at least once a month. We were very loyal customers and REALLY enjoyed the food and most of the staff have been great to us. The former manager, (now he is the cook) has ALWAYS been super rude to us. He never greets us and always has an attitude. We always try to come before happy hour and one time he denied it to us even though we there and seated before it was 6pm (happy hour ends) That never stopped us from going, because we loved the food ? and we could ignore him.A couple of weeks ago we ordered some food to go and we also ordered $6 worth of extra sauce to go on the side (We’ve ordered this before). When my husband went inside to pick up our order, he always checks the food before he leaves and noticed the sauce was really empty. He then asked one of the waiters (who is always kind) if they can fill the rest of the cup with sauce, because we paid for it. The waiter had no problem, but the former manager/cook came out and said “this is the exact amount that we give out sorry I cannot give you anymore”.My husband then showed him how empty it was. The cook then said “you can purchase another one to fill that one up.” And the. another female employee backed the cook up saying “we only make enough sauce for the seafood.”My husband then told the manager/cook that why is he acting like he doesn’t know that we come here all the time and they give us a cup of full sauce. The cook then said very unprofessionally “sorry I am not the manager anymore, that was too much drama there’s nothing I can do about it.”Me and my husband have been to this restaurant over 20 times and I have never had this problem. Why do they sell the sauce separately if they only make enough for the seafood? And why do I have to pay twice as much for one cup? Also, it’s unprofessional to talk about your work drama to the customer. But it’s not a surprise, because he always seems in a bad mood.Unfortunately, we will no longer be eating at one of our favorite places. Too many bad experiences. It sucks that one person can ruin everything. Hopefully his boss realizes and teaches him good customer service.
First time here and was impressed. I wouldve given it 5 stars but the shrimp and crawfish tasted over cooked and was mushy and falling apart easily. I recommend getting Jacob as a server, from the time I walked in to the time I was walking out, he was super attentive and gave A+ service. I asked him for recommendations and they were great, I ordered the Captains choice with Crab n spice spicy sauce. The sauce was delicious and wasnt over powered by garlic. Please acknowledge Jacob for his superb serving skills and customer service, even though he had about 6-7 tables and a few to-go orders and still was able to give great service. Thanks Jacob!
I went today and bought almost $150 worth of food! Flavor was decent couldve been better, but the seafood itself was literally so overcooked we threw more than half of it away which is sad!! (Ordered to go or else i wouldve complained) the shrimps and lobsters were SO OVERCOOKED when we tried peeling it, it would turn into mush LITERALLY like a boiled potato would do!!! There was no way to enjoy or correctly eat it! Such a waste of money!
Me and my wife went here recently and paid $125.00+, so what did we get? We did not get clams or green lipped mussels due to being out. When you only have a very select variety and limited menu, being out of two things is alot. We ordered the medium garlic spice. It was not spicy one bit as well as absolutely no garlic at all, completely void of garlic taste. Once we started eating, it was clear that the food was pretty cold and not fresh. We were polite nevertheless and left a tip however given everything, they should be paying people to eat here rather than the other way around. This was all on top of us waiting for them to open 15 minutes late. It would help if so.e adults worked their instead of a bunch of kids right out of high-school. The AC was not running either so the inside was very hot and uncomfortable. I see that the owner responds to negative feedback which is good. However given the of complaints, it seems that the responses are just for show and that no real change will actually ever take place.
