Contribuisci feedbackThe restaurant offers vegan options, with friendly English-speaking wait staff and comfortable interiors. Conveniently located in the lock area, the restaurant is pricier than other nearby options in the castle area. Unfortunately, I was disappointed by the food, which I found greasy and lacking in flavor. Despite specifying my dietary restrictions, two dishes still contained cheese, even after confirming with the wait staff multiple times that we did not eat cheese.
It was the only time that I tried traditional cuisine in Albania, as most dishes were usually based on meat and milk. Here the owner and his family prepared for me some alternatives, such as filled eggplants and paprika, which always come up with cheese. The food was very tasty, maybe the portions could have been a bit bigger (I think they are traditionally eaten more like appetizers as a full meal).
Friendy comfortable restaurant. Owner recommended which vegetarian options could be made vegan. The food was delicious. Very reasonable prices. Nice coffee.
After exploring the ruins of the castle and its churches and mosques, you can relax and enjoy some stuffed paprika and stuffed eggplants at a restaurant with breathtaking views in Berat. The owner is fluent in English and understands the needs of vegetarians and vegans. We were thrilled to discover this gem and want to spread the word that vegans can eat here too. The restaurant even has a proper bathroom with toilet paper. However, the owner seemed a bit offended when we tipped him, as he was one of the few business owners in Albania who did not expect gratuities.
