Ristorante Il Calabrese Pizzeria

Quite OK Italian food, crowded with locals which always tells something !. A rather sour waitress but good staff are hard to find and waiting staff change a lot.

Food was fine and, being Italian, we expected parmesan cheese to be offered. It wasn't. so we asked for it and it was given. I was a bit surprised, and disappointed, to see that parmesan was an extra on the bill at each)

What a great place to relax quirky décor and wonderful staff including such a funny and friendly owner/chef. The food was great, loved the Tagliatelle al Salmone which packed such incredible flavour and with a very generous quantity of salmon.

All the food we ordered was very good, portions of adequate size. The service was quite slow. The small restaurant was full and had only waiter, so it took him a while to take the orders and bring the drinks. But the food didn't take...too long to arrive. Overall, if you are not in a hurry, it's a very nice place for dinner.

A friend recommended this place and we decided to try it. Glad we did! The food was very good and the staff was friendly. It did get very busy not long after we walked in (and we got there right after they opened for the...evening). They speak English and have menu choices in English. Cash only!
