Schloss-Stuberl - Berchtesgaden

Order at the outside counter and lunch is soon brought to your outdoor table. It is a short walk directly in from the Tourist Information im AlpenCongress, which has a WC. We had the bratwurst and fries, which was good.

We loved Schloss-Stuberl. It certainly is not fancy, but after a week of heavy German food, this hit the spot. Get the half chicken! It is delicious. Cheap beer, cheap meal (also refreshing after a week on vacation). The bartenders were friendly, and one spoke...English.

Food was simple and freshly prepared. Nothing ground breaking and cheap beer. The place has not apparently been decorated since the 1970s but that actually gives some charm.

70's vibe. Certainly Not fancy, but homey, and good food. Roasted chicken had crispy skin and juicy inside.
