L'Epoque - Berck

Pro: Nice location, friendly and helpful staff. Extensive menu, ready to adjust the menu for a vegetarian diet. Con: The food and presentation / the coating is quite average / disappointing. For example, the Assiette de crudite is like a leg salad, and the finish was just... a piece of average camembert with some salad.

Berck for lunch back to the ferry. When November it was mostly closed, L'Epoque found on the promenade, which had an encouraging number of diners. We liked the traditional decor of wood cladding and mirrors. The menu was also traditional with lunch... Menu for E14. We had Moule, Steak Frites and cream caramel. Simple, but perfect.

Stayed one night in Berck and had a craving for moule mariniere the French ones being so much better than the English as they do not drown them in cream and the hotel menu did not have them. I staggered against the wind and...rain up to the strip and found this restaurant with a reasonable priced set menu (E13.80) and had excellent moules in a celery/onion broth followed by a super steak frites and a little bit of cheese. The welcome and attention paid was excellent they even came out with a few nibbles with the aperitif. A half litre carafe of good house cote du rhone (a change from a couple of weeks previously where the half bottle of cote du rhone in a ski resort hotel was undrinkable). My only criticism levelled at all French establishments is the ridiculous price they charge for a small beer. But overall very good value and would happily return if I ever go to Berck again.

Located in the seaside strip, amongst many similar places. We may have been unlucky, but our food was awful and it's difficult to find anything good to say about this place. Go elsewhere.

En plein week end de l ascension on nous a refusé l accès au restaurant un samedi soir car ils ne servait plus à a peine 20h30. La fois d avant on avait était relégué sur une table entre la cuisine et les toilettes nourriture plus que moyenne. Ça faisait 17 ans qu' on venait manger dans ce restaurant plus jamais on refera cette erreur
