Ijo Izakaya - Berkeley

This charming restaurant offers delicious Japanese cuisine. I gave it four stars because the temperature inside was too cold.

We had a fantastic meal at this restaurant! We visited with our family on Valentine's Day and they were able to accommodate us. The Oden was exceptional, the Yellowtail carpaccio was amazing, and the sashimi was both thick and delicious. A big thank you to the staff and chef for a wonderful dining experience. We will definitely be coming back again!

Service was very slow; we were 3 guests and only the food for one guest arrived first, followed by a long wait.

Unfortunately, I have to say that the food at this restaurant was not very appealing. The staff were friendly, but the food definitely needs to be better.

I got spicy tuna and spicy salmon. The spicy salmon was decent but the spicy tuna was smelling and tasting very bad. Not sure if nori was gone bad or it was the smell of tuna!
