Chan - Berlin

Found this place quite randomly when my husband and I were looking for a Turkish place that someone recommended us. This place is mainly Thai, instead of a fusion restaurant as advertised. First, the restaurant itself it's lovely. You can sit outside when the weather is to your desires, with candles on the tables at night. Inside there are many family style tables and some two people tables as well. During the evenings, they host Club Chan, which means that there is a DJ doing the music. It was loud inside compared to most German restaurants I had, but not according to American style - it was unobtrusive. Service: Pretty good. All servers spoke perfectly English. Food: Actually, everything we ordered was amazing. We had the Thai Spring Rolls, Tofu Pad Thai and the Enten-Masaman-Curry. Both were delicious, hot and clear from very fresh ingredients. The duck was not fat and crowned to perfection. The tofu was 't hard, and had great flavors in the pad Thai. Drink: I had a very delicious (although expensive) Mojito and my husband enjoyed a miso yaki highballer. They are definitely not cheap to the alcohol content. Price: A little high for Thai, but not overpriced compared to neighbouring restaurants. I would say it is a good option for a date, or even a group of people (no more than 6-8). Bonus: You take cards!!

Great place we hit for lunch today. Friend of mine has been going here for a while and loves it. I wasn't expecting much but ended up being totally surprised by it. Great food with a nice atmosphere. Service was a bit flaky but nice. Just weird that they didn't even know the dishes on the daily menu board. No biggee though, still a great place. I was pleasantly surprised and plan on coming back, especially in the summer to sit outside. Am luckily often in the area for business meetings. Would love to try it out for dinner too!

Very poor. Food was pretty ordinary for the price. Starters had no taste. Main dishes had no taste. Beer was warm. Cocktail was pretty bad. Disappointed.
