China Restaurant Hee Lam Mun - Berlin

My friends and I were staying in the same street in a hotel, we didn't mean to have a fancy dinner but a comfy and near meal. We ended up in a huge Chinese restaurant, with typical decoration probably unchanged since the 90's, ran by an old couple. The menu had a lot of choices, I ordered the first time (we came back 2 days after) pork with mushrooms and bamboo and the second time chicken with vegetables and cashews, both dishes were really big and fully, but healthy cooked with not a lot of grease and with very tasty good quality ingredients. My friends were also very happy with their meals. The couple who run the restaurant was very professional but nice. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for a relaxed dinner!

Set in a leafy Berlin suburb amid lots of homes is this Chinese place which blossoms as you open its doors. Its huge inside and also has a huge menu.Its service looks sparse but is efficient and the decor is like a Chinese villa.M any tables so take your pick.Wide menu and adaptable to your taste.Not pricey and quite an exciting find while driving back from out of town to Berlin.Do try its sea food and its chicken.The steward speaks English and can explain very well.Their chili paste is very very hot so be careful

Wir haben das eine oder andere Mal im Hee Lam Mun gegessen, und immer war das, was auf den Teller kam, in Ordnung. Dies ist ein klassisches China-Restaurant, wie man es aus dem alten West-Berlin kennt. Mit den üblichen Gerichten, und wenn es noch die eine oder andere Besonderheit gäbe und die Ente nicht zu sehr durchgebraten wäre, würden wir auch einen vierten Punkt vergeben. Dass hier wenig Convenience Food verwendet wird, merkt man schon an der Sauer-Scharf-Suppe, die offenbar nicht aus der großen Dose sondern vom eigenen Koch kam. Der Service ist sehr freundlich, und offenbar gibt es viele Stammgäste zu begrüßen. Das Hee Lam Mun ist sowohl ein populäres Familienrestaurant als auch eines für den eiligen Mittagsgast.

Although you would never guess it from outside this restaurant, it is amazing to eat and the inner very authentic. we are already here twice now and it is very good on the way to become our favorite Chinese place in the city! the dishes... come very fast and each one of them so far was incredible. I promise they won't regret a visit.

I would recommend this restaurant definitiw for a relaxed dinner!
