India - Berlin

A wet Sunday at lunchtime and we discovered this lovely restaurant by chance. The service was very good though it is small with limited number of tables and many visitors could not be accommodated so perhaps booking is necessary. Exotic décor and candles on the...table and delicious food generous portions. A wide variety of dishes and from what I saw on other tables it all looked and smelt wonderful.

We ended up in this place during the carnival in kreuzberg. We were really satisfied of our dinner, food was deliciuos and the staff were nice and accomodating. Even if the place was full of people, we Did not wait for the courses. The only...flaw is The place, too small and not luminous at all.

The food was OK. We had a Thali and in general the dishes were quite well prepared if a little bland, the Puri was rather doughey. The service wasn't great as the waiter either misunderstood completely what we were saying, a bit strange as my...friend lives in Berlin and speaks fluent German, or made a mistake as I received my food and they completely forgot his main meal! Quite small, and cosy as other's have described it, though if you have a loud diner in the place at the same time as you it rather wrecks the atmosphere.

From 11am to 5pm you can get everything on the menu for 5.50e ! The waiter is really welcoming, nice and caring. The food is good and generous. The quality/price is accessible to every budget. I will come back !

The prices during lunch time are definitely cheap, but the food doesn't taste very good. In super-competitive Bergmannstraße area that's not enough, there are also better Indian options.
