We came a day in October with more or less activities in berlin, due to COVID-19. we were 8 people and then sat another couple in the restaurant. I think it must have been like a musician who gave concerts to a handful...people. they try their best, but they miss inspiration and motivation. but despite the lack of customers (except us) they delivered a very nice evening meal. tasteful, interesting and we were very happy with the food and the service and the place. we will go again every time! I feel so much for the owner and the staff there. how terrible to hope only for the customer and they know that either they remain open to a possible turnover, to pay bills or close them and have no income and then also no business. either it's terrible! I recommend this place to eat, the atmosphere and the service. give it their try the next time they want meeres, tasteful and fresh!
I come every year in the first february week for fruit logistica to berlin, so for 15 years. and I ate in many restaurants in berlin during these years. this restaurant is the worst experience I had in berlin! a fish and seafood restaurant should be in order if the fish and seafood are fresh. in this case, it does not roll the quality of the ingredients. I ordered 2 dishes for me and 1 court for my wife and some 6 fine de claire oysters. the oysters were the second quality. no good sign. the court of my wife, sole fish, was acceptable. but for me the waiter brought another dish instead of lobster and garnel and monks with tomato sauce that I ordered and he also forgot that the second plate, pimiento di padron, is no longer available and I had to wait 20-25 minutes to get what I ordered and then I discovered that eating was much too salty. the brot was a really cheap brot, the waiter brought it together with something cheaper mayonnaise. the wee was acceptable, a wee out of portugal. everything in all was the worst thing I had experienced in berlin in 15 years and eating was less than acceptable. now I understand why this restaurant has 3.5 stars in tripadvisor. So stay out is a bad experience at dinner in this restaurant.
Omg if they love fresh seafood, this is the place to go. it wasn't too far from where we were, so we could go. we have been a little off some of the reviews, but we have dared and we are anyway. so glad we made it! we had fantastic seafood and a great service. so much that we have made a photo of our server and gave it a hug at leaving. the otopus, the calamares, all we had was excellent. we stopped eating more than we had so good. this place will be on the top of our list, we should go back to berlin. look at the seafood photos that say that a picture speaks a thousand words could not be more true!
Lunch today at La Sepia was much better than my last experience here. Garlic prawns and salad were excellent. The salad had a light, slightly sweet dressing with just the right amount of edge. The garlic prawns were pan fried in a shell sauce with...just the right amount of garlic. A touch more lemon would not have gone astray. A good Riesling accompanied the meal. Bread was fresh. The waitress was outstanding, as she was on the last visit. Crisply efficient with good English. What a change from the usual Berlin “attitude.” The restaurant was quite busy but the personal service did not suffer. The restaurant is located in a side street not far from KaDeWe, so away from the busy crowd.
