May Thai has its golden times behind it. 15 years ago it was the only way to go on the corner well, plentiful and cheap asiant food. Food can still be eaten here, but the quality has unfortunately been rather neglected. Various currys that are varied on tofu, chicken, duck or pig and unfortunately all taste similar, regardless of whether it is red or green. In summer, however, it is still nice to sit outside and watch the drive on the Gneisenau/Zossener and after all the soups offered are still good and also very inexpensive. If you just want to eat quickly and cheaply and have no great expectations, you can risk it. In order to be happy at dinner in the evening, it does not appear.
If you like something fresh at lunchtime, you will be well-resolved in May Thai in the summer outside at Zossener Straße, otherwise in a slightly angled interior, with tables on several levels (reality the warmth rises up... . You order at the counter, pay, sit down and ... has promptly forgotten the number of his dish, which shortly afterwards carries a polyphonic choir out towards the kitchen. Was the 10, or 11, or 29a? No matter, everything is delicious, and everyone has finally come to his food, although the interpretation of German figures from Asian throats is sometimes difficult to understand. The food compensates for the revolting ordering process and the somewhat sparing interior decor fresh, tasty, well seasoned. Whether red (10 or green curry (11 for just under 5EUR, fried noodles with chicken (29b for 4.80 EUR, the customer can still choke from various single-mach glasses or drapp a few peanuts in addition. A fantastic soup (e.g. 1b for 2 EUR) is also sufficient for small hunger, which can be obtained in a large portion if necessary. Or a glass noodle salad with a warm chicken breast (and a lot of sauce, which is a real problem at the sometimes slightly slanted tables on the street, especially when it runs from the plate simply through the ridges of the table ... And to drink a mango Lassi, which (from the calorie view itself is almost a meal. The sparrows are looking forward to the rice residues in front of the door, about a (since years of constant good food of the fast enjoyers. Update 2009: Unfortunately, the quality has decreased, so that it is now neither very original nor particularly tasty. I was disappointed at the last visits, and unfortunately I also have to reduce the stars from five to two. Too bad. But maybe we can go up again...
In short, The shop is a little rancid, the tables are not properly wiped, the kitchen was ok in my eyes (is directly visible), but heard from others. The Jog tea was almost tasteless, the soup was very sharp but not particularly tasty and with little varied inlay. All this would lead me to the 1 star (because the service was very friendly), but the 3 stars are for the main course that really convinced me (chicken fillet with ginger, mushrooms, peppers and onions) really good! I'll come back, but I can only recommend the store to a limited extent. Is there a delivery service here? I'd use it.
The Mai Thai is an Asian snack at Zossenerstraße. In summer you can sit in front of the door and look at the driveway. In winter, however, you are forced to go in and there it looks rather skuril. You order as usual with a snack at the counter and then take place. There are red or green curry for almost five euros, fried noodles with chicken for for for forty. It is possible to add a few peanuts from various single-mach glasses. A fantastic soup is also sufficient for small hunger, which can be obtained in large portions if necessary. Or a glass noodle salad with warm chicken breast. For drinking I can recommend a mango Lassi, which is almost a meal. The food is only average here. The sauces are more watery-damage it would be a good alternative to the Abirams next.
