This little gem with the fab ambience of the Arminiushalle serves authentic Peruvian food. It is just awesome to see Toni takes the time to talk to the guests and ensure everything is in line with their expectations. The anticuchos with causa and the fried...yuca with hauncaina (a little more would have been better ; sauce were just great! Pisco sour ist excellent! Prices acceptable.
Berlin can enjoy again after Corona Delicious Peruvian food. Make sure you book your table. You can now even take Pisco Sour with you to serve the best summer cocktail at home.
A friend and I went to Naninka for dinner last night. Having traveled extensively in South America, we were quite surprised to find such a delicious explosion of flavors in this little restaurant inside the market hall which rivaled some of the best places we...had tried overseas. Very impressive, I highly recommend it. The wine list could be improved to include full bottles of wine.
This is an awesome little place in the Arminiushalle, with authentic Peruvian food, Peruvian personnel and Peruvian ambience! The place is simple but cozy and decorated in an authentic yet modern way. The open kitchen is a definite plus as you can see how your...food is prepared (and talk with the cooks). The extra bar offers you some seats if you only want to have a drink and the son of the owner himself prepares the drinks. As I was not too hungry, I only ordered my typical sample of pisco sour, ceviche, and fried yuca with huancaina (fresh cheese and Peruvian chili) sauce. I always try to have these dishes when I try a new Peruvian restaurant as they are a good indicator on how the rest of the menu will be...The pisco sour was perfect, indeed not too sweet and not too much angostura...and as it is supposed to be with a good pisco sour you get the impression it is super light and fresh, but it packs a punch! If you drink 2 of them, you will notice the effect when you stand up... The ceviche was very good, too, and included the mandatory sweet potato and cancer (fried corn), and it was made the way I asked for few onions and not too spicy. The only thing I would have asked for is a little more leche de tigre (lemon marinade). The yuca frita was perfectly done, soft and crispy and the accompanying huancaina sauce creamy and light. It is always a good sign when the owner and his family are present in the restaurant and take care both of the guests as well as of the food. Antonio, the Austrian Peruvian owner, does not only take time to talk with the guests but is also part of the kitchen team. Value for money was really good, too, as the pricing was fair not super cheap but also not crazy as in many places in Germany... Last not least, I really appreciate the fact that this place does not try to do many many different dishes but concentrates in a couple of really good ones. The flip side of this is that they do not have too many desserts to chose from. And me and no dessert is no bueno ...Antonio promised this will be improved over time so I am very much looking forward to many next visits...
