Great experience, really good service, food was fresh, delivered quickly and tasted really good. We had scrambled eggs with ham and cheese as well as the ones with mushrooms and bacon, plus breakfast for two which consists of a variety of meats and cheese, in a word: awesome! The interior feels nice, a lot of cool things hanging from the wall, creates good atmosphere. I highly recommend this place for a great breakfast experience Plus it's always good to mention that the coffee was great too! Big plus for the lovely blonde at the bar who's smile and attitude helped us pick the best dishes:
Erm I almost don 't want to write a review for Salon Schmuck as I want to keep it all to myself, but since you really must try the scrambled eggs with jalapeno peppers and cheddar, here goes ; The food is hearty, go here when you have a big hunger as the saying goes, and enjoy stuffing yourself. In particular, they serve their breakfast menu til 4pm so that is handy for those sleep in days. Lots of great cosy vintage furniture and corners to snuggle into. I love the details from the kitschy artwork and lamps right down to the salt pepper shakers. As far as I know the room through the French doors (sigh is the smoking area. If you 're a non smoker it might make you ache a little as it looks sooooooo cosy back there, you smokers got a good deal. Free wifi is available (which I think they don 't run on the weekends so it 's very tempting to bring work here and while away some hours not doing it ; I love it in summer when the chairs and tables are set up outside aswell. You can simply bask in the sunshine, order some freshly made juice and watch the world go by.
Although I have been to Schmück more than my fair share of times, I surprisingly have never eaten anything here, so these breakfasts that people rave about? I haven't a clue what the fuss is about. Maybe I will inspect the menu closer in the future, but I am fairly certain there isn't much catering to vegans anyway. But what I can say is that I have been here for drinks and hanging out plenty of time, and that's always great. The inside is cozy and eclectic, there is a separate room (with doors even) for smokers, and when the weather is warm, sitting out front can be wonderful. There are plenty of different kinds of drinks-alcoholic and not-available and the prices are reasonable. I am not certain, however, but I think of the former, they only serve beer, wine, and cider. If you're looking from some place that is laid-back and comfortable to kill some time or hang out with a friend, definitely don't overlook this place.
We had to wait one hour for our breakfast to come, which was rather annoying. However once it did come it was delicious! They had a lot to choose from, I had the alm breakfast, pancakes and fresh juice, tasty but a bit pricey The place it self was genuine and felt authentic, and overall it was a great place for breakfast!
