We have eaten here before and I have left a very favourable review for this place. Not today.Service was good and fast and rices are very fair, just like the last time.But unfortunately the cook was lazy that day and virtually everything (except for the salad) was prepared in the deep fryer. The Schnitzel, the Curry Wurst, the potatoes and some other sausage used as "decoration" (see attached picture).We ate, but not with great appetite. When I witnessed how the cook opened his mail with one of the chefs knifes in his kitchen I had enough.We really liked this place, but I guess the times of simple but decent quality cooking are over in this place.

Das Restaurant/Kneipe wurde auch von richtigen Berlinern besucht, was für eine gut bürgerliche Küche spricht. Die Bedienung war zurückhaltend aber sehr freundlich. Die Currywurst (inkl. Belagen) lecker und ausreichend. Preise nicht ganz günstig, aber ok. Von daher Empfehlung

Had the eisbein , which , although it initially seemed a bit weird ,turned out to be surprisingly good .The pan fried potatoes were superb and the salad tasted very fresh.It is not just a place that only caters to foreign tourists; there are also plenty of German customers, which can be taken as a good sign.The location is very central and handy.

Small restaurant set back from Karl Liebknechtstrasse (it's number 9), and easy to get confused with a larger, similar restaurant in front of it. The restaurant has outdoor seating, but we sat inside as the temperature was a little cold.Good selection of traditional German dishes. I went for a Currywurst (very good) and my wife enjoyed a Schnitzel. I had an excellent Weiss beer to wash it down, she had a fruit juice. Total was a reasonable €28.70. Pictures attached.Portions are pretty large so watch out. Two student types ordered a mixed platter dish, and the plate was positively groaning. They managed to finish it! Great for those on a tight budget.Friendly service. Would be happy to return.
