Wasserwerk - Berlin

Went to an event held at Wasserwerk last night (industry conference event). For a fairly large event this place did not really cut it. The theme was interesting (I guess). The outside of the building was more attractive than the interior. Inside there are large pipes and lighting. The lights inside were actually too bright and seemed to be directed at the guests faces. It was like someone was shining a spotlight in your face the whole time. Very warm also no airflow. The major issue, however is that the pipes and integrated bar take up so much space in the middle of the floor that it creates massive bottlenecks for guests heading to or from the back portion of the venue. Almost impossible to maneuver through the single file line of guests trapped in the path. Little seating, but that would not have been as much of an issue if one could just find a place to stand without being crushed and in the annoying spotlight. Food was average, and some satay chicken skewers (from a full plate) were cold. Not terrible, but if it was my money and for a large crowd I would skip this venue.

The waterwork is simply an ingenious example to transform an old industrial hall into a very cool location for cocktails and the like.
