Golden Dragon Chinese - Berryville

I will never return. I called in to place a takeout order for shrimp fried rice, beef with broccoli, egg rolls, and crabmeat fried wontons, assuming they were the same as crab rangoon. To my surprise, I received shrimp fried rice, chicken fried rice, egg rolls, and dry crabmeat fried wontons without any sauce. All of this cost me $34. After trying a bit, most of the food ended up in the trash as it lacked flavor. If you're in the mood for Chinese food, skip this place and head over to Zen Ramen across the street for some excellent Japanese cuisine. I really wish Berryville had a reliable Chinese restaurant, but unfortunately, Golden Dragon isn't it.

Absolutely not! I visited this restaurant with my husband, and our meals were served in takeaway containers despite dining in. When we requested plates, we were given the cheapest Styrofoam ones! It's hard to believe there are still places that serve food on Styrofoam! Additionally, the amount of meat in my husband's chicken dish was so minimal that he could barely find any chicken at all. I definitely do not recommend this place! If you're looking for a decent meal in a pleasant setting, stay away!

This was possibly the worst dining experience I've ever had. We arrived at 5 PM and were the only customers in the restaurant. A young girl, around 13 years old, took our order and, while she was polite, she didn’t know what unsweetened tea was. They forgot one item from our order of three. When they brought out my steamed wontons, they were served in a takeout container and were basically raw, so I couldn't eat them. My husband's dish was acceptable, but it also came in a takeout container. They provided flimsy foam plates and cheap plastic forks. The only redeeming aspect was that they didn’t charge me for the half of my meal that I received. We definitely learned our lesson and won’t be coming back.

Maybe just slightly below average in comparison to other Chinese restaurants. The food is edible, but unimpressive. It's fine for being an easy local option. I bet this place was great at some point in the past, but not now. Go to Winchester or Purcellville for good Chinese.
