Hill Country Smokehouse - Bertram

A gem of a find in Bertram. We ate there before a music performance at the Globe Theatre. Only downside is that they close at 7PM on Saturday nights and the shows at the Globe start at 8PM......They should really consider staying open at least30 minutes longer if a show is scheduled and perhaps cooperate with the Globe Theatre for some publicity. As for thefood.....the side dishes we tried (Cole Slaw and Potato Salad) were both outstanding. Crunchy sweet Cole Slaw and a goodmustard potato salad. The Jalapeno sausage was greasy in a good way and very tasty. Only slight disappointment was thebrisket which was tender, but a little dry. The sauce was perfect though...so those flaws were hidden. Portions were veryadequate. Nice clean tables inside and very nice picnic tables outside. The staff was very friendly and efficient. Lotsof other options on the menu as well.

Turkey is awesome!!! Had the brisket plate today. Wonderful. Reasonable prices. Friendly folks. Gets busy at lunch. Sat inside and after a while it got a bit smokey. Otherwise this is a plce to get great food.

Delicious food and THE MOST friendly and hospitable staff! Yall, if you want to experience true southern hospitality and great food along with it, come here! About 40mins away, but always worth the drive! Highly recommend!!

The best breakfast tacos I have had. Chorizo beans bacon cheese on grilled tortilla!! Dipped in homemade hot sauce! Then I had the chopped baker with smoked jalapeño cheddar sausage! Lots of places offer loaded baked potatoes, but this by far is thebest one! Homemade bbq sauce completes the baker!
