Le Jardin du Palatin

Really nice restaurant with the best pizzas around. We come often for lunch and always enjoy it the service is really good but do make a reservation before, as it is very popular and gets full quickly. The owner Evelyn speaks Dutch, English, German and...perfect French. Is a great place. We love it.

Nice informal happy pizzeria, serving really delicious massive pizzas with a thin crust which was absolutely perfect. Actually very good for a motorway stop (just about a mile off the through Bessines' main street and just before the road hits the old main road...again).

We stopped off here during a long journey from Amboise to Sarlat ... Its about half way or just over and the restaurant is just off the highway. Its a great spot to stop ... Service is excellent and pizzas were delicious! Close your eyes...and you could think they are in Italy the taste is that great!

On a drive to the south of France from England, we stopped the night here rather than drive down in one go. The restaurant in our hotel had closed by this time so we went in search of food. This was the first place we...stumbled upon so went inside. I don't know what else the town had to offer, but I really don't care! The pizzas here were to die for and the service most friendly. If you're stopping by in this village, and you like pizzas, then you'd be foolish to walk past this place. If you don't feel like eating in, a takeaway service is available. The pizzas are fresh and made in front within view of you. It's also reasonably well priced for what you get. We would return if staying in the area again we've had a few pizzas since and nothing has compared to these!

During our short stay in Bessines-sur-Gartempe, we had a lovely dinner with persons, at Le Jardin du Palatin. The pizza’s were just great and the dessert was fine as well. The service by the Dutch owner was fine. Highly recommended.
