(Hint) Chalo's serves some of the best and authentic street tacos in Bethany/War Acres. If you haven't been, go...and let/show them know how you found out about them. Super clean restaurant. If you don't know what to order, trust them to hook you up...even if you don't know what lengua is ..lol. Sure hope they stick around for another 10 years or more. I love em!
Located in the strip shops a bit South of Wiley Post Airport. If you blink on the way by at night you will never see it ... and it may well be dark since they are open until 2200. Everything appears to be made here fresh. Of course that does not include the bottled and canned drinks. Tortillas are wonderful. Tacos are the pasture variety with diced proteins, lettuce, raw onion, cilantro, and sautéed onions. Who does sautéed onions? It is definitely not a Taco Bell!! The burrito was similar to the tacos except it was much bigger and you can add refried beans inside at no extra cost. Mine was excellent. They provide two sauces, an orangish red one and a green tomatillo based one. Both are excellent and not particularly spicy. If you just have to have insanely hot bring a can of mace and spray some in your mouth before dining - of course you will miss the great flavor profiles these guys worked so hard to serve you - life's full of choices. They also provide a plate of lime wedges and radish wedges. Both are very traditional. They have menudo soup available on Saturday and Sunday. Also very traditional - a bit too traditional for my tastes. I do think a nice flavorful bean soup or tortilla soup would be a wonderful everyday addition to their menu.

Small place, big flavor!!! love the quesadillas with pork and their tomatillo salsa was outstanding! The carne asada tacos were great as well. Glad we stopped by!
The tamales and tacos were tasty and reasonably prices. The plastic menu is too brief and the tables around us had ordered food and drinks that were not on the menu. This seemed a little frustrating, so they might want to add a chalkboard outside or pictures over the counter/register area to let every customer know what is available. But the server was friendly and the atmosphere was fine. All in all, well worth a try!
