Now all grown up and in a location somewhat reminding you of Bravo, Pasta Too is still a place that I would make a special trip to visit. The food is wonderful—so many selections, and not a bad one in the bunch. Get the Wedding Soup—yum!!! And, my go to pasta dish is the manicotti. The sauce is a little sweet, and the filling is creamy and rich. My last visit had me craving the Chicken Cutlet Parmigiana, and again—soooo good. Now, if only they would open another location NORTH of Pittsburgh!!
This was my first time visiting to Pasta Too. My son frequents here and had brought leftovers home in which I thought were amazing. However, walking in the door only for us to greet the hostess instead of vice-versa. Then she made a big deal about uswaiting for the rest of our party while being seated. Meanwhile, the place was empty at this point. Overall our experience wasgood and the waitress was GREAT. I got a certain vibe from this hostess that the customers bother her and frankly it 's enoughfor me to not go back. It is a pasta place which is a dime a dozen in Pittsburgh!
When we got there it was busy. The service was really good her waiter was continuously at our table. Portions were very large considering. Now the not so good. The pasta aglio olio you should never be made there again unless they change how they do it.It was clumped together pre-made pasta and then the cheese in it was clumped together. They used garlic that was in a jar thatto me in any Italian restaurant should never happen. The fettuccine alfredo had a good flavor but again the pasta wasovercooked. The gnocchi was good but the sauce was sort of watered down. The veal parmesan was big and the sauce again was alittle watered down but the veal seemed to be a little overcooked and dry. The salad was pretty good and a good amount but Idon't know the last time I've had celery in my salad at a restaurant. All in all it was a good experience and probably would goback to try something different
Jackie?s the best! If you come here, ask for her. She wrote her name on the table (covered by paper), saying ?it makes the manager happy?, as a very interesting touch, and I?m sure their other servers do this. Not to mention, they box the food foryou. We spent twice as much at the last place we?d been to that does this. The complimentary tomato oil and bread was great. This was my first time trying cod and they breaded and buttered it perfectly. The fries were nice and crispy, the ranch is justas good as you could expect, and the chicken parm was exquisite. One of the most astounding things about Pasta Too is what youget for the price. Most places charge entree prices for the price of their up charge side dishes. Ask for the chicken parm andbe floored at the size of the plate. Two people will leave one meal with leftovers for three. We?ll definitely be coming hereagain.
Food was outstanding. Service was great. This place is HOPPING busy. They do not take reservations and 6:00 pm on Wednesday evening we had a 20 minute wait. It was well worth every second. The picture is Chicken Parm with a side of spaghetti. Icouldn?t even eat one forth after the bread and soup. ????
