Keeping Chef in the name should have been a warning to me just like Chef Boyardee. Another bad omen was when an adjacent table send their food back because it didn't taste right. My wife ordered linguine with clam sauce and we specifically asked for gluten free pasta. Our waiter said that would be no problem. The dish brought out did not have any pasta with it. In the bottom of the bowl was a liquid that looked like dirty water, sliced onions and cold. I had to get up and find our waiter to ask about the gluten free linguine and he said that it was his fault for not letting us know that the only gluten free pasta they had was penne. There is no way an order of pasta can be brought out in one minute. My wife did not even touch it because the likelihood is that it was regular penne pasta. I ordered the spicy shrimp fettucine and 4 pieces of shrimp, served cold and with a sweet marinara sauce. No spice to it at all. As for service, lets call it no service. We asked for additional bread to be brought out, none delivered. Waitstaff did no come around to see how dinner was. Our party of six decided to try two desserts, cannoli and tiramisu. Two bites of the tiramisu were tried and the balance was left of the plate and the cannoli was just as bad. Over priced, cold, flavorless food, such a disappointment. You had to be hoping that keeping Amalfi's in the name would bring back the legions of diners that kept coming back over the years. Diners beware, this is not Amalfi's in any way. Save your money and eat elsewhere. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 1 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
What a great dining experience in an unassuming neighborhood. We worried when the old Amalfi closed, but we are thrilled with Chef Tony's fresh renovations and delicious mostly seafood menu. Our guests were extremely impressed. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $50–100 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5 Recommended dishes: Chicken Saltimbocca, Meatballs Pasta

Today 's review is of a popular restaurant in Montgomery County Maryland called Chef Tony 's . Our group dined at the Rockville, MD location. First off the staff and patrons were nice. We even met Chef Tony himself who was a pleasure. The food was very good. I wouldn 't say out of this world but it 's definitely worth eating at more than once. The surf and turf wasn 't what I expected. And while the shrimp and scallops were excellent, the steak was too salty and way too chewy. The stuffed salmon was delicious and definitely a winner. Crab cake was on point. The Seafood Stew was excellent as was the Seafood Paella. All in all the experience was a 3.7 out 5. We will definitely come back. Note: We don 't recommend trying the appetizers beef ravioli or the crab stuffed mushrooms . It was plated nicely but the taste was average and not worth the price. My review is solely based on the food! I was hankering for some lobster Mac and cheese and saw another reviewer’s picture of the restaurant’s dish. Then I noticed you could order food from here via delivery l! Yay! When I got my order, I noticed there was a good amount of lobster. The dish is a large portion size. And the it came with a warm zucchini side dish! THAT WAS SO GOOD! Things I didn’t like, the top of the dish was caked in breadcrumbs. I know some people love breadcrumbs, but these seemed heavy handed. The dish I saw online didn’t look like there were any breadcrumbs, which made me excited. So seeing that much breadcrumbs made me a bit disappointed. Also the flavor of the cheese sauce was a bit bland and there wasn’t a lot of it. Nevertheless the noodles were cooked well and the lobster was good! Service: Delivery Meal type: Dinner Price per person: $30–50 Food: 3
