When we called the restaurant to check on our order, the person who answered was extremely rude to my partner. When we finally received our food, it was absolutely disgusting. The garnish was cold and dry, the salt and pepper squid had no salt and was tough to chew, and the Peking pancake was more like a wrap that was inedible. The spicy chicken wings were dry and lacked flavor, and the chicken sticks were raw. My partner and I ended up getting sick from the food. I am shocked not only by the terrible service but also by the poor quality of the food.
The Bamboo Inn was a letdown due to poor service and subpar facilities. The restrooms were especially unpleasant, unclean, and not up to standards required by regulations.
I was pleasantly surprised when we received no greeting upon entering the restaurant. We seated ourselves at a table set for two and waited for a staff member to take our order. The restaurant was not very busy, with a large table and two other tables for two. Once we placed our order, the food arrived quickly and was both delicious and affordable. My favorite dish was the pork in plum sauce. The fried rice was good, though a bit small in portion. I would definitely recommend this restaurant, as it is BYO only and not licensed.
My father and I visited the bamboo inn because our usual Chinese restaurant was closed for Christmas. I found it on trip advisor and it had a 4.5 review. we have booked and are scheduled at 17.30. we were fast... lonely and the waitress took our drinks ordering special coke. shortly after the arrival of the drinks and the waitress took our food order prawn toast, shanghai beef, deep fried huhn in lemon sauce and a small fried rice. I used to clink and dad used a spoon and a fork he's a good old one. the prawn toast was beautiful, the bark was excellent and the fried rice as they would expect. the chicken sauce was nice, but the chicken itself was a bit tough and tricky. I hope it wasn't because we ate during a long weekend. we mentioned that to the cashier who just said okay.
Good Cantonese fare at very reasonable prices and with very large servings. I must admit though that the food doesn't have that special flair that it had some years ago, but nevertheless very good in nice surroundings with pleasant and prompt service.
