I appreciate that the waiter doesn’t employ pressure tactics, which I always look for when assessing a restaurant's service. If you're someone who values attentive service, you'll be pleased to know that your drink will be refilled promptly without feeling like the servers are hovering at your table with every sip. This restaurant specializes in tapas and izakaya-style dining, allowing you to order small dishes to share. The portions are modest, but I’ve never left feeling hungry; it all depends on how much you’re willing to spend. For two people, I typically spend around $150. The aromas are delightful and diverse, making every dish a unique experience. The sauces elevate even the simplest items like tuna sashimi or carpaccio, and they are distinct for each dish, offering plenty of flavors to discover. Overall, Mako is an intimate dining establishment that holds many cherished memories of wonderful conversations and enjoyable meals. While reservations aren’t strictly necessary, they are strongly recommended, especially on Fridays and Saturdays.
Oh my goodness! I discovered a little slice of heaven at a restaurant on Beverly Drive! From the appetizers to the desserts, everything was incredible. We sat at the bar and had a great time, as my "date" knew that the staff here were fantastic conversationalists. Mako was particularly delightful, and we got to watch as our seafood risotto was being prepared. It was absolutely delicious! And the dessert plate was the perfect happy ending to our meal.
