The Boathouse - Bideford

We ate here on a Monday evening in possibly the busiest juni in the west for many years. the website showed that the restaurant was full, but we could book the bar. when we arrived, the staff at the door found us a table in the restaurant area. I had the vegan risotto and my partner the vegan burger the eating was delicious and there were other vegan options on the menu. it was so nice to have more than just a burger or curry to choose from. food and service were good quality and we would certainly eat here again if we are in the opposite

We went here because online the vegan options looked really good and diverse, but at the arrival we were told that they were getting rid of their vegan menu (to be fair, they said they were making a new one) so there was only one vegan porn that happened, something I don't like. we had already ordered coffee (soy milk the only vegan option) so agreed that they have and then go. we explained to the waiter that we would go elsewhere because there are no vegan options. he brought our coffee with small places brownie. I asked if they were vegan - of course they were not - this kind of thing annoys me as much as they were wasted. the waiter offered us helpful a gluten-free cookie - my man asked if it was milk and egg of course it did!

Lack of vegan options. served non-vegan ice before we checked and then took 15 minutes to change it.

Very good service. Plant burger was tasty, as were the chips, although the presentation was a disappointment. The vegetarian starter options were uninspiring I'm sorry to say. Price per person: £20–30 Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

My first visit to The Boathouse was lovely. Warm, cosy atmosphere and really attentive staff. Potato fondants were undercooked, but our server took everyone's dessert off the bill as a gesture of apology. All other food was outstanding. Will definitely be back! Food: 4 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
