I prefer restaurants with a small menu card but that one was, with only 2 options, definitely to small, as were the portions, actually. The food was good, plates were well dressed. The service was slow, served us after people that came after us, and missed to fulfill some simple requests about the dishes. The garden around the villa and the villa itself are very nice, so it is worth visiting once. All in all I expected more from this restaurant..
What a nice, lovely and quiet place in the middle of Biel! Surrounded by a precious and appeasing garden, or rather a small park, lies this benign villa where you can unwind during a nice dinner. A subtle menu lets you choose between 4 or 5 courses or à la carte and offers a rich choice also for vegetarians. A nice wine selection makes this non-stiff restaurant a very good choice. The cheesecake was extraordinary! Staff was a bit cold and rough at the beginning but warmed-up during the evening.
In the city center, you can enjoy the peaceful gardens of the restaurant, sipping a coffee or an apero in the green surrounding the beautiful neoclassic building. The tasty food is organic and fully homemade, a very good deal for lunch (very affordable) or for a fancy dinner in the evening. That 's a great restaurant, rated in the Guide Bleu and Gault Millau . My best personal tip: on Saturday morning, go to the old town farmer market to get plenty of healthy and local products, and then pop by the Lindenegg for a coffee, in Summer it 's just heaven!
While the food was good, it was extremely expensive for what you get. We had planned to eat there each night of our stay, but decided to eat elsewhere on our last night.
Sehr schönes Ambiente, in altem Gebäude. Im Sommer schöne Parkanlage. Freundlicher Empfang, kleine-aber feine Mittagskarte. Das Essen ist hervorragend, alles frisch und richtig fein abgeschmeckt.
