The ambience was ok, the horrors from the kitchen came us a bit sweet, the main dish was taste-neutral the hotel convinced, also the breakfast, in the evening we will probably go to Bielefeld.
Milser Krug is conveniently located on a downhill road and parking is available. The restaurant facility is classic cozy and the service friendly and attentive. The wine selection is sufficient. As an appetizer, the soups that were all good are definitely recommended. But the duck breast on field salad with an orange caramelvinaigrette, which was a real highlight, should be particularly highlighted. As main food we were (6 people) and almost unanimous and ordered the stagragout. The portions were large, but the quality did not break down. The meat was of good quality, the sauce was tasted harmoniously and the supplements were also delicious. The goose breast was also great: juicy, cooked to the point, red wine sauce, red cabbage and dumplings were also good. Most of us had to dispense with dessert because of the already mentioned men's proportions, so we can only report something about the Cremé Bruleé. It was well and freshly made and a perfect conclusion of a delicious dinner.Due to the quality and size of the servings, the restaurant is in a positive setting.
Very nice and cozy furnished guest rooms, white tablecloths, fabric napkins, elegant interior. We were pleasantly surprised when the restaurant made a really good first impression on us. The service was attentive, always present and friendly. The menu, on the other hand, appeared to me at least a little carved three meats, three fish dishes. I didn't find anything that promised me. For example, Pork schnitzel Wiener Kunst would not have been my first choice, nor the second! I had a little betrayed. Then the young bearded top (like a Abraham Lincoln circumcision) came together with the Three Grails Menu proposal of the day rolled up in champagne glass, very creative: I then chose the offered creams, calf carvings and Panna Cotta for € 25.50. My wife took from the very fantasizing appetizer buffet, then Westphalian table top, handmade fine. The calf carving was quite good, the supplements (carrot carrots, splashy potato tamphe. The 70s passed through my inner eye) either cooked or remained on the plate. The dessert did not break out. As far as the area is concerned, the wine selection consisted of three wines, a gray Burgundy, a castle of Vollrads from the Rheingau, as well as an unknown cuvée from South Africa, at least a bad offer for me, and I, as so often, to Herforder Pils. The difference between the first good impression and the very limited kitchen performance is blatant! The toe was € 80. Euro for a raised kitchen. I'm not going to visit Milser Krug anymore.
By chance or by the reviews of other guests I booked an overnight stay in the Milser Krug. Since we went to the rooms very late, we decided to visit the restaurant at the hotel. After 5 hours drive, I had no interest in finding a restaurant. The restaurant is very noble. Very comfortable seating, colour matching lighting, friendly service. Pleasant portion size. We were sick, too. Salad was served by the buffet, which could score with seasonal selection. Yes, if we are back in the area, we will be there both food and overnight.
The rooms are very nice and well equipped. Sky Receiver is available in the rooms. In the room there is a spa area with towel and a bathrobe. Breakfast is also very good. Now to the less positive, the restaurant. Hamburger ordered, the price is very high and then also expectations. Unfortunately, it is very dry. The little sauce and the meat fried too long. I've eaten a better one for less money.
