Gypsy Nickel Lounge - Big Rapids

The food was decent, but my experience was marred by the service. When we arrived, I received the drink menu and ordered a Blake's Hard Cider Tropical. However, when I tried it, it didn't taste right. I asked about it, and the waitress went to speak with the bartender. She returned to inform me that they had run out of the drink I ordered and had given me a completely different one without asking for my consent. To make matters worse, they still tried to charge me for it. That's not how you should treat customers!

The food was outstanding, and the service was exceptional. However, the restaurant could use some improvements. The ambiance needs a little sprucing up, as the seating is uncomfortable and the lighting is quite dim. It felt cold and unwelcoming due to the hard seats.

I visited this restaurant for the first time and found it to be a good spot for lunch. We sat on the deck, enjoying a lovely view of the river. I highly recommend the crab Rangoon spring rolls—they were delicious! We also tried the fish tacos, which were quite tasty, and the fat noodle soup. While the soup was good, I was expecting a strong ginger flavor based on the description, but it didn't have any ginger at all. The service could have been better, but it seems that can be hit or miss at many places these days. Overall, I would definitely come back again.

Really enjoyed the Gypsy Nickel. When we got there, the restaurant was about to put us on a wait list, but they were able to find us a table inside to accommodate the nine of us. The appetizers were fast to the table and the meals came at the right timeafterwards. My teenage daughter got a virgin Pina Colada and she loved it. I was thankful for a vegan option on the menu. Theservice was fantastic! I believe our waitress was new, but she did an excellent job serving us all. Highly recommend, especiallyif you're visiting from out of town like we were.

What a fantastic spot! The service was quick, and the food was absolutely delicious, all with a lovely view of the river. We visited after moving our daughter into her dorm room.
