No 8 - Billund

I was very pleased with the cod plate at NO 8! Excellent presentation, flaky, with interesting accompaniments. Average, but friendly service.

I’ve tried Svanen hotel several times and must admit this restaurant isn’t my favorite one. Last week I went there with some colleagues and again had to experience the slow service they have. Sometimes food is great, sometimes it’s not.

Visited this restaurant on a Sunday evening, whilst in Billund overnight. The restaurant is located within a hotel, and you wouldn't notice straight away, unless you are specifically looking for it. We had the deconstructed lamb shank and the risotto. Bothe were very good with excellent presentation. We shared a No8 Cheesecake for desert which was to die for. Unfortunately service is not as good as the food. We were accompanied to our table, and provided with menus, and after over 10 mins of waiting, I had to get up myself, only to find waiters chatting to the hotel receptionist!

The sweet potato chips are really wonderful, and they have a big salad bowl as a vegetarian option. However, steak lovers would probably enjoy it more, as they seem to specialise in steaks.

We had a great dinner with excellent red wine although a bit warm for my taste. The sirloin was excellent and the side orders although small were also great
