El Saltillo Mexican - Biloxi

Many years ago I stopped coming here because of some quality issues that I observed. A friend wanted to celebrate a birthday there today so I was reluctantly accepting to go. I was very surprised and delighted that everything was so clean and fresh. Theservice was impeccable. The food was delicious and the restaurant was spotless.

Our favorite Mexican restaurant on the coast never disappoints! Everything is consistently excellent. Usually, we order takeout, but this time we decided to dine in. We typically go for the California burrito or the steak tacos, and we love them both in hard and soft shell options. They are absolutely delicious! On our last takeout visit, we decided to try the lengua taco (cow tongue) because I wanted to see how it measured up to authentic places I've been to in Brownsville, and it was fantastic. Even my husband enjoyed it!

I've always had a great experience at this restaurant. I stopped by for lunch with a coworker, and it was just as perfect as ever. I also love that I can order my favorite dish à la carte—the enchilada burrito!

I hesitate to be that customer, but I feel it's necessary for this review. I ordered a beef burrito at El Saltillo and specifically requested no cheese. Unfortunately, when my order arrived, there was cheese on it. I politely informed the waiter, and he brought out a new burrito a few minutes later, which was enjoyable. However, when I reached the last bite, a small piece of raw meat fell out. I checked closely, as the burrito was covered in red sauce, to confirm it wasn't just seasoning. Having already sent my burrito back once, I didn’t want to complain again, especially since I had already eaten most of it. I really wanted to enjoy my meal there, so it was disheartening to have to bring it up with the waiter. When I mentioned the issue, he didn’t examine the meat and simply claimed it was pink due to the chili seasoning, offering me a discount. To investigate further, I poured some water on the piece of meat, and it became even pinker. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone.

The restaurant was clean, the food was great and the price was awesome! 5 star for those things! The staff was a little shy and when we checked out the girl made no eye contact and gave no thank you for your business , All of our margarita glasses had achip on them as well as my drink cup. Which is why I could not give 5 stars for overall. But I will return for the food andMargaritas ????
