From start to finish, it was a culinary catastrophe. To kick off this disastrous evening, I decided to order the Nacho Supreme from the menu, which, according to their description, promised a tantalizing combination of beef or chicken, lettuce, cheese, beans, tomatoes, sour cream, guacamole, and jalapeños. Sounds mouthwatering, right? Well, what actually showed up at my table was a sad excuse for nachos: a mound of chips and some tough, flavorless steak. Yes steak! Not the beef or chicken I had expected. It was like they couldn 't even be bothered to read their own menu.Hoping to salvage this already regrettable meal, I requested guacamole, as it was clearly listed as an ingredient in the Nacho Supreme description. Lo and behold, they charged me an outrageous $3.50 for that tiny dollop of guacamole. Seriously? Is guacamole now a rare and precious gem?But the icing on this disastrous cake came when I received the bill. Not only did I get charged extra for the steak that should have been included in the Nacho Supreme, but they had the audacity to charge me a grand total of $17 for a plate of chips, subpar steak, and a minuscule portion of guacamole that should have been part of the meal deal priced at $10.99. It 's a classic bait-and-switch tactic that left a bitter taste in my mouth. To make matters worse, I can 't help but wonder if El Tarasco Taqueria Restaurant is attempting to extort people with lighter skin. It 's appalling to think that they might discriminate based on ethnicity when it comes to pricing or service, but based on my experience, it wouldn 't surprise me if they engage in such unethical practices. In conclusion, my visit to El Tarasco Taqueria Restaurant was an absolute disaster. The false advertising, overpriced guacamole, and questionable billing practices left me feeling cheated and disheartened. I wouldn 't recommend this place to anyone unless you enjoy subpar food, hidden charges, and the suspicion of discriminatory practices. Save your time, money, and appetite for a more honest and reputable dining establishment.
The service was great! We went on Taco Tuesday and I must say they were delicious. Between two of us we had 6 tacos and a basket of nachos with dip and we were very full. The bill...$6.42. There isn't much ambiance and things look a little old but very clean. It's become our favorite Tuesday Ishtar place
Food is super authentic!!!!!! We r from California visiting and the tacos here were soooooo good .
WOW, possibly the best Authentic Mexican food we have had. My spouse found another winner. A little out of the way but well worth the effort. This small little restaurant is in a strip center but very easy to find. You walk in and they great you in the most upbeat and friendly way. A great way to start. There are about 12 table or so and by the time we left (2:00PM) they were all full.Vanesa helped us and she was outstanding and very patient with us. She brought chips and salsa and said that we had the mild salsa. We asked about others and here they came. The red one is very, very hot she said, the green one not so much. Then we ordered: one each chorizo, el pastor, and barbacoa tacos, a chile relleno and a side of refried beans. They arrived and they were huge and beautiful. We could have had one a piece and been totally satisfied. The meats in each taco were perfectly cooked, not over cooked and tender as can be. Might be the best chorizo I have ever had. They were served street food style with only cilantro and onions...but they added a nice touch. On the side were sliced radishes and grilled onions. The chile relleno was awesome. The cheese on the inside was a new one for us. We should have asked what it was as it was delicious. The batter on the poblano was thin and not eggy. Guess they used a little salt. I ate half of my chorizo and pastor tacos and half of the chile relleno. The refried beans were very creamy and had the best taste. The serving was huge and yes we had too much. We then decided we must take our leftovers and then added two cheese and onion enchiladas. I had to open them and look and they were beauties. Tasted a small taste and oh, my more winners. We heated everything up and had another great meal that evening. The service was great. Friendly staff. Excellent food. They do take out. Highly recommend. If you are lucky Vanesa will help you. She has been working at the restaurant since they opened about four years ago. Enjoy!
Absolutely fantastic little gem! Was in the area for kids sports and so glad we stumbled upon this place. The food was FANTASTIC! I ordered a grilled chicken taco and cheese and onion enchilada and both were delish and full of flavor. My family got pollo con queso and asada tacos with beans and all were so good. Everything was fresh and so full of great flavor!
