The restaurant has a very nice atmosphere and the table are all arranged so they give you enough privacy. We went there for lunch and it was great. There is a limited set of menus but the quality was equally as good as in the evening. We had a small starter, main (with meat), dessert and a mineral water for 23 francs. The waiter was also nice and giving us enough privacy.I can highly recommend the restaurant specially the lunch. One comment, they do have outside seating... It looks nice but the tram come by every 6 minutes.... I prefer to go when the weather is not good and then sit inside....
Walked in a pleasant setting for lunch, we had high anticipation. But that quickly became an insult with the pretentious menu and poor value for money - even for Swiss standard. Average food served in ridiculously small portions. A tiny bowl (not larger than a palm) of vegetable with few cabbage leaves and four tiny potato cubes in green curry sauce costs 29CHF. A few thin slices (size of a 5CHF coin) of stir fried chicken and four pieces of cashew nuts cost 37CHF. 7CHF for a small bowl of white rice! how much effort does it take to make white rice? At 37CHF for a dish one would expect some white rice included. 10 CHF for a bottle of water? Unjustifiably pricey for average food. Not worth the money.
Went for dinner with a few colleagues based on their recommendation. Don't get me wrong, the food was nice, but it had been dulled down to a Swiss standard- meaning there was very little Thai spice. The spring roll appetizer had 1 spring roll. Prices were high, even by Swiss standards. Definitely not value for money. The staff were pleasant and attentive so cannot be faulted. I personally prefer a Thai place to be more, well, Thai.
An unusually situated restaurant in the middle of the tram tracks at the end station in Binningen. The restaurant itself is beautifully clean, with fesh flowers and white table linen and the passing trams outside were hardly noticed. We were welcomed and helped to our table- the service was exceptionally friendly. The food was all served very artfully and it was just as deliciious. We ordered 2 set menues and the portion size was good but we were unable to finish the dessert. For a 3 course lunch we paid CHF69.00 per person plus drinks, so this is very expensive for a normal weekday meal.
I came to this restaurant with high expectations and was disappointed. The food was good, but by no means exceptional. I ordered mango salad with tiger prawns and had some difficulty finding the 3 smallish prawns hiding in the dish. The seasoning gave the salad a nice zing but was too salty for my taste. My main course was utterly forgettable, as it tasted like goulash with peanuts. The restaurant itself has pleasant, unassuming decor, but is very noisy. Dinner for 2 , with wine and drink came to CHF 200 -- a bit steep even by Basel's standards.
